An Apple Watch owner has claimed that the device caused a burn on his wrist and says that attempts to resolve the issue with customer support have been unsuccessful for nearly six months. The incident, described in detail in a Reddit post by a user identified as “Southern_Chest_9084,” highlights both the alleged injury and the difficulties he reports encountering while seeking assistance from Apple.
According to the account, the incident occurred on September 24, 2025. The user stated that he was sitting and working on a laptop when he suddenly felt an intense surge of heat on his wrist, where the Apple Watch was being worn. After removing the device, he reportedly noticed a burn in the shape of the watch on his skin, including blisters, pain, and visible damage.
Apple Watch burned my wrist and left a scar. I’ve been ignored and taken for a ride by Apple for 6 months.

Following the incident, the user contacted Apple Support and began a lengthy process involving phone calls, chats, and emails with different customer service representatives. He reported spending extended periods on hold, sometimes waiting around 30 minutes to speak with an advisor. Despite multiple interactions, he claims that no clear resolution has been reached.
In some conversations, support staff reportedly suggested that the issue could be related to a skin sensitivity or allergic reaction rather than a problem with the device itself. The user also said that Apple requested diagnostic checks and asked for the watch to be sent to Ireland for further investigation by engineers.
Because the nearest Apple Store was between 1.5 and 2 hours away, the user initially requested a home pickup for the device. He claims that one representative agreed to the request but later stopped responding. A different advisor later stated that Apple’s policies do not include home pickup for such cases.
Eventually, the user traveled to the Apple Store, but he says the staff there were unaware of his case and again suggested the possibility of a skin reaction.
As of mid-March 2026, the user says he has received no definitive response and is considering legal action after months of unsuccessful attempts to obtain a formal investigation into the incident.
